Shawn Cooper Maruri is a seasoned real estate advisor with extensive experience spanning the United States and Mexico. Her work focuses on luxury residential properties, new developments, and complex transactions, shaped by a career that bridges development, preservation, and brokerage. Having grown up around the real estate business, Shawn developed an instinctive understanding of the industry through early exposure and hands-on experience. Raised in New Orleans, she had first-hand involvement in the early revitalization of the city’s Warehouse District, at a time when the riverfront area was largely worn down and left with vacant warehouses. Through historic adaptive reuse, the district evolved into a vibrant cultural hub known for residences, galleries, venues, and creative spaces. Alongside this transformation, Shawn worked in residential real estate in New Orleans, specializing in historic and architecturally significant properties—experience that grounded her appreciation for preservation, character, and long-term value. She later relocated to Mexico, where she founded Shawn Bienes Raíces in 2004, establishing a boutique firm focused on high-end residential and investment properties. After more than 25 years living and working in Mexico, Shawn is now based in Miami and affiliated with Douglas Elliman, serving domestic and international clients.
